In 2011, a small dream named "Woori Bakery" began to swell in a small space inside "Woori Mart" in Cheongju. CEO Yeom Mi-young realized early on that no matter how delicious a cake is, it is useless if it does not reach the customer. Before opening the bakery, she ran an academy; after work, she would personally deliver cakes made by her husband through every alleyway, delivering them without charging a delivery fee. The cakes, which had been quietly baked in a corner of the mart, began to gain popularity through word of mouth, eventually leading to the establishment of an independent space in a larger area. Starting anew in their own space brought a strange sense of tension and fear, but they were able to muster the courage thanks to the time and trust they had built with the citizens of Cheongju and the customers who visited Woori Bakery through their tireless efforts. The fresh chocolate cakes, baked daily without a freezer and a true testament to the diligence of the husband-and-wife owner couple, have now become the pride of Woori Bakery. Made with premium chocolates sourced from Belgium and France to create a deep and rich flavor, the chocolate cakes are becoming a sweet gift for the daily lives of more people at a reasonable price. After the reputation of selling 500 cakes a day on weekends spread nationwide, requests for delivery began to flood in. CEO Yeom, who wanted to reach more people through her chocolate cakes, decided to open a pop-up store and launched Cheongju Woori Bakery at the Jamsil World Mall in Seoul last April. Starting from the third day, customers ran in droves, and affectionate reviews for Woori Bakery poured in on social media. Thanks to this high popularity, Woori Bakery will also be available at the Hyundai Department Store Trade Center branch from June 6 to 12. CEO Yeom dreams of the day when Cheongju is called the "City of Desserts." Cheongju is a small city where bakeries scattered throughout attract customers with their unique aromas. Within this setting, Woori Bakery will continue to bake sweet dreams with sincerity and steadfastness, just as it has in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
