Tucked away in an alley just off Gwangalli Beach, a single wooden bookshelf sparks curiosity. It is a secret door accessible only to guests who enter a number on a keypad, serving as the entrance to Dududi Books, a book cafe. Opening the bookshelf door and descending the stairs reveals a spacious area with a comfortable atmosphere. Founded in 2016 by young people who joined forces to form a cooperative, Dududi Books has been hosting various cultural events centered around its book cafe concept. Throughout the cafe, you can find various excerpts from different books; this reflects the management's desire for visitors to set aside the pressure of having to read and instead find comfort and inspiration in the space itself. The Speakeasy Bar, located further inside, offers a distinctly different atmosphere. Designed to allow even non-readers to visit Dududi Books without pressure, this space allows guests to share their worries with the bookstore staff while enjoying whiskey or beer. Dududi Books operates on a reservation basis to ensure visitors have the luxury of focusing on themselves and recharging in greater comfort. Just as the name 'DOO DOO DI BOOKS' embodies the meaning of 'a person who acts after learning through books,' the store hosts various classes, book clubs, transcription groups, and counseling programs. The 'Wave Riding Book Club,' where participants read and discuss books together on paddleboards in Gwangalli, and the 'Alcohol Loved by Authors' program, where people share the drinks favored by writers to understand their lives and discuss their personal concerns, are just some of the reasons why many people visit Doo Doo Di Books like a cozy gathering place. Doo Doo Di Books can be found at Connect Hyundai Busan under the name 'Paper Lounge.'
