Stepping into an alley in Namsan-dong, Daegu, you will find a café operating with the exterior of an old dry cleaner intact. It is a place embodying CEO Lee Yu-jin's calling to share diverse flavor experiences through beverages. Its name, 'Somyung Coffee Bar,' is also straightforward. With a dark brown wooden counter, LP records, and a turntable, the space was designed to feel comfortable and cozy, as if it had been there for a long time, hoping it would be a place where one can immerse themselves in old memories at any moment. The music selection also features a playlist from the 1980s and early 2000s. Among the various menu items, the signature drink is 'Cold Brew.' The fact that black coffee without syrup or milk is the representative menu item demonstrates just how sincere they are about coffee. It is smooth and clean, yet captures the distinctive, tangy taste characteristic of cold brew. This calling to share diverse flavors is clearly reflected in the café's unique operating style: 'Komakase,' which offers food and beverages in the form of coffee, non-coffee, and desserts every Friday. The theme changes once a month and runs for about an hour. You can enjoy not only menu items exclusive to Somyeong Coffee Bar, but also common beverages prepared in a unique way.
