I am Je Yu-jin, the manager of Sounds Forest on the 5th floor of The Hyundai Seoul.

Q. What kind of work do you do?

Yujin | We arrive at work a little earlier than others, around 7 a.m., to do things when there are no customers. We water plants, prune large trees, and replace sick plants. We also provide meticulous, customized care, such as observing the plants for pests and diseases and measuring the moisture levels in the pots.

Q. When do you feel the most proud?

Yujin | Sometimes plants get sick, and I feel a sense of pride when I take good care of them and see beautiful new shoots sprout. It also makes me feel good when customers passing by say, "Thank you for taking such good care of them; they look lovely."

Q. What is the appeal of Sounds Forest?

Yujin | On the 5th floor, Sounds Forest features a wide variety of plants, ranging from temperate to subtropical. There are many plants that are hard to see in the city, so I hope you take your time looking around.

Q. What kind of experience can I have?

Yujin | There is a photo machine inside the pergola, and QR codes are located at the entrance or inside. If you scan them, you can check more detailed plant names and information, so be sure to give it a try.

Q. Recommended viewing time

Yujin | If you come early in the morning at this time of year, the sunlight is really beautiful.

Q. Better viewing methods

Yujin | Please just look at these beautiful plants with your eyes. It breaks my heart if you tear or break them. Also, there might be thorns, so please be careful with young children!
